Scientists at Leibniz IPHT and Jena University Hospital are investigating a laser-based diagnostic method for pathogens and their resistances that could help patients to get the right treatment much more quickly in the future. Harald Lesch presents it in his programme “Lesch’s Kosmos”.

“Who stops the killer germs?” asks Harald Lesch on 26 November on ZDF in his programme “Leschs Kosmos” and presents “New paths in Medicine”. Among them is the rapid test for the determination of infectious pathogens and their resistances, which has been researched at our institute. “Antibiotic tests could be revolutionized with this technology”, says the article, which can be viewed in the ZDF media library.
