IPHT Jena Even More Attractive as Research Partner: Roofing Ceremony for the New Fiber Drawing Tower
A new tower for drawing optical fibers, which will measure 14 meters in height, is being built at the Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) with the support of the Thuringian state government, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the European Regional Development Fund. Secretary of Education Bernward Müller will attend the roofing ceremony which will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009.
Illuminated: Researchers investigate new physical phenomena on the nanoscale with microstructured fibers
Researchers at Leibniz IPHT have succeeded in contributing to significant advances in deciphering tiny nanoobjects: Using special optical fibers, they identified a new optical mode that enables uniform illumination along the entire length of the fiber, and determined the resolution limit of individual objects that could be measured with fibers. They thus lay the foundation for observing nanoparticles with unprecedented precision. The results of their studies were published in the renowned journals OPTICA and Nature Communications.
Annual Report 2022 shows highlights of excellent scientific (collaboration) work
The new annual report of Leibniz IPHT covers almost 80 pages of entertaining stories, exciting institute highlights and scientific projects through a successful year 2022. Under the motto "Collaborate & Create", the new edition focuses on collaborations that promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, create synergies and generate new impulses for innovative solutions that make life safer, cleaner and healthier.
