CharO is applying for investment for the investigation of optically thin samples and interfaces using photothermal deflection spectroscopy and photo-induced atomic force microscopy in a broad spectral range from UV to mid-infrared. The intended combination of complementary methods will enable in-situ experiments and nanoscale structure-resolving investigations of thin films. The correlative investigation using (in-situ) PDS and PiFM in identical spectral ranges will provide new insights into the structure-property relationships of interfaces.

The project is funded by the Free State of Thuringia under the number 2023 FGI 0018 and co-financed by funds from the European Union within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
