At the annual meeting of the European COST Action Raman4Clinics, research groups from 21 European countries agreed on the next steps in establishing Raman measurement methods in clinical diagnostics. This includes the calibration of instruments, ring experiments on standard samples, and uniform sample preparation and data analysis. Possible applications include the therapeutic monitoring of medical drug dosages, the identification of infectious agents, the type identification of cells, and the detection of tumor borders. [The PDF below contains the full German press release]
