The summer season invites us to be outdoors in nature, to have a good time, to get together and to enjoy sunny days without any worries. We would like to experience such a summer day in a relaxed atmosphere together with you. We therefore invite you to our summer party this year. And since summer is just the right time for a picnic, we would like to spend a little time out in the green with you. A filled picnic basket is provided and you can expect music, dancing and cool drinks as well as international delicacies.
This year’s summer festival is also the occasion for a very special anniversary: This year, Leibniz-IPHT looks back on its 30-year history, which goes back to 1992 with the founding of the Institute of Physical High Technology.
Join us in looking back on our successful development as an institute, meet colleagues again, exchange ideas with our experts on current research topics, learn what moves the Leibniz-IPHT or simply enjoy the summer pleasure with good conversations and culinary delights.

The Sophisticated Orchestra
“The Sophisticated Orchestra” invites you to a musical journey to the time of the 1920s and 30s. Let yourself be carried away into the carefree world of cafés, vaudevilles and jazz clubs, and enjoy the lifestyle of swing, the Charleston, cocktails and long nights.
DJ Smoking Joe
Sets ranging from nujazz to funk, soul, R & B, reggae and ragga to electro beats are delivered by the crème de la crème of the Jena DJ scene: Smoking Joe, whose name has been causing rapture between the Ems and Elbe rivers, Müritz and Bodensee for several years now. He draws with a fine hand from an inexhaustible pool of musical epochs and styles.
