The joint research group SARS-rapid, consisting of scientists from the Leibniz-IPHT, the University Hospital Jena and the Technical University Ilmenau, is working on highly topical research questions on the current coronavirus.
The research focuses on the interactions of the virus with the host cell and the resulting cell reactions. These cell reactions are the basis for the development of state-of-the-art optical-photonic detection methods.

The project on which these results are based was supported by the Free State of Thuringia under the number 2020 FGR 0052 and co-financed by European Union funds within the framework of the European Social Fund (ESF).
