AutoSynth is a collaborative project between the Molecular Plasmonics research group and Gesellschaft für Silizium-Mikrosysteme mbH (GeSiM mbH) in Radeberg. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative automated synthesis platform for the production of customised metal nanoparticles for a wide range of applications.
At the heart of the system are micromixers adapted to the respective synthesis processes. These enable continuous microscale mixing of the starting materials, thereby providing optimal conditions for the synthesis of complex colloidal materials. The planned prototype will be able to operate independently of the user through partial or full process automation. This will enable potential users to achieve reproducible, high-quality production. In the future, in addition to the protocols established within the project, the synthesis platform could also be used for other types of particles produced by wet-chemical processes.
