Doctoral Candidates

Graduates of degree programs in the natural sciences may pursue a dissertation on the research topics available at Leibniz IPHT. Doctoral candidates at Leibniz IPHT are encouraged to participate in the graduate program offered by the Jena Graduate Academy where they gain access to an attractive course of study to increase social skills and develop leadership skills. The Leibniz IPHT offers for doctoral students departmental block seminars to convey a broad scientific overview of Leibniz IPHT-relevant topics and improve the lecture skills and discussion competence of doctoral candidates.

For doctoral candidates who are not involved in any external graduate programs offered by DFG, Max Planck Society, or Leibniz Association, Leibniz IPHT offers an internal graduate program as reliable guidelines for graduation. In addition, it is possible for doctoral candidates to participate in English courses at Leibniz IPHT.

The cross-disciplinary focus of the institute and the close network of industrial partners provide the doctoral candidates at Leibniz IPHT with a broader perspective.
