[Translate to en:] Looking Underneath the Skin
[Translate to en:] The Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) strengthens its activities in the area of spectral imaging. Within the scope of the collaborative project CHEMOPRÄVENT and with the help of the latest optical methods, the Institute will analyze the root cause of the side effects of chemotherapeutic agents. These agents are highly effective and important weapons in the fight against cancer; however, they often exhibit severe side effects on the patient’s skin. The aim of the participating project partners from Jena, Berlin, and Munich are modern imaging methods that will lead to new insights into the chemical processes beneath the skin.
