Sensors from Jena on Board the Comet Lander Philae
On November 12, 2014, the Philae lander will separate from the European space probe Rosetta, and land on the comet referred to as 67P/Tschurjumow-Gerassimenko (Tschuri for short); thermoelectric sensors from IPHT will be on board. These sensors will make non-contact measurements of the surface temperature of the comet after landing to within a tenth of a kelvin. [The PDF below contains the full German press release]
