Celebrating together and thinking of each other: Leibniz IPHT celebrates 30th anniversary and collects donations for a good cause

The year 2022 marks a very special milestone for Leibniz IPHT: In this year, the institute looks back on its 30-year history, which goes back to 1992 with the founding of the Institute for Physical High Technology.

To mark the occasion, Leibniz IPHT celebrated a colorful family and summer festival in June 2022 together with almost 600 employees, friends, partners, and alumni. With a program of music, dance, and culinary delights, the celebration provided an opportunity to meet old and new colleagues, look back on 30 exciting years, and talk with photonics experts about current research topics at the institute.

Donation campaign for a good cause
 
The summer party of Leibniz IPHT also offered the opportunity to think of those who are not doing well. For this reason, the Leibniz IPHT researchers collected donations for the people in Ukraine during their anniversary celebration. The symbolic donation check totaling 1,212.62 euros was handed over to the Evangelische Lukas-Stiftung in Altenburg (Evangelical Lukas Foundation in Altenburg) at the beginning of July 2022.
 
The Evangelische Lukas-Stiftung in Altenburg organizes voluntary aid transports with medical equipment to Lviv (Lemberg) in the Ukraine to the Sheptytsky Hospital. The donation of Leibniz IPHT supported the purchase of medical supplies and materials that will benefit the people in Lviv and have already been handed over to the Sheptytsky Hospital.
