Stiftungsprof. „Opt.-molekulare Diagnostik & Systemtechnologie"
Runtime: 01.01.2019 - 31.12.2023
Diagnostics and Systems Engineering" based on the Berlin model.
Optical and molecular analysis methods are important key technologies for progress worldwide, especially in the fields of environment, life sciences and medicine. For the Jena region in particular, optical technologies play a key role in academic research and teaching as well as in economic development.
The Leibniz Institute for Photonic Technologies e.V. (IPHT) researches photonic and biophotonic processes and systems from the scientific fundamentals to application in accordance with its slogan "Photonics for life". It develops solutions for urgent social questions in the fields of health, environment and safety. The IPHT's research aims to advance its photonic and biophotonic solutions into new dimensions in terms of resolution, sensitivity, specificity, speed, accuracy and automation. It thus lays the foundations, for example, for faster and more accurate medical diagnostics, for a new quality of food and water analysis, and for innovative safety technology, ultimately serving to make life safer and healthier.
In order to promote the translation of scientific results towards users e.g. clinics, i.e. to overcome the Valley of Death between applied basic research and application research, photonic and biophotonic solutions with a high technology maturity level (TRL) have to be realized.
The project belongs to other funding.
