Automated Analytics for Infection Diagnostics
PERFEKT: Fully automated, open multi-parameter analyzer and compatible assays for decentralized infection diagnostics
Runtime: 01.10.2025 - 30.09.2030
The PERFEKT project is developing a compact and cost-efficient analysis system for decentralized infection diagnostics. The device automates all steps from the prepared sample to the final result, enabling use both in laboratories and directly at the point of need, for example in medical facilities or monitoring scenarios.
The focus is on assays for the detection, typing, and resistance analysis of selected bacterial pathogens. These include Chlamydia, Staphylococcus aureus including MRSA, and Legionella. The system processes multiple parameters in parallel, allowing for a differentiated diagnostic assessment within a single, integrated analysis workflow.
PERFEKT combines DNA-based and protein-based testing methods within an open system architecture. This allows different detection formats to be integrated and adapted to specific diagnostic requirements. Results are provided in an automated and standardized manner, without the need for specialized laboratory equipment.
The project supports applications in infection surveillance and outbreak prevention and helps translate diagnostic technologies from the research context into practical, real-world solutions.
