The project aims to significantly expand the infrared laser infrastructure at Leibniz-IPHT to develop cutting-edge multispectral and intelligent imaging and diagnostic techniques as key local technologies. Innovations include highly specialized infrared and visible lasers, nanopositioning systems, and adaptive optics for (1) an opto-photothermal infrared microscope and (2) optically intelligent near-infrared image recognition. This infrastructure will strengthen new core competencies, enhancing the national and international competitiveness of Leibniz-IPHT.

The project is funded by the Free State of Thuringia under the number 2024 FGI 0026 and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
