Experiments on Raman scattering and third-harmonic generation in silicon nanowire ensembles formed demonstrate one-order-of-magnitude rise of these signals in them in comparison with crystalline silicon, correspondingly. The Raman scattering efficiency strongly depends on the excitation wavelength.
