Comparative analysis of plasmonic and thermo-optical properties of gold based spherical core-shell nanoparticles
in: Composites Part A-Applied Science and Manufacturing (2019)
Gold (Au) is frequently used as base material of core or shell in such two-layered NPs as Ag core-Au shell, Au-Ag, SiO2-Au, Au - SiO2, Fe3O4-Au core-shell NPs and many others. These core-shell NPs can be viewed as Au based NPs, because Au is permanent and main component of NPs and determines plasmonic, optical, thermal and other properties of NPs. The use of Au shell or core allows to achieve interesting properties by combining the plasmonic properties of this metal with its high chemical stability as well as established methods for nanoparticle formation (both chemically as well as by lithography). Plasmonic and thermo-optical properties of gold based spherical core-shell NPs are investigated in this article for wide ranges of geometrical, structural, material and other parameters. Comparative analysis of plasmonic and thermo-optical properties of NPs, depending on different characteristics, has been carried out.
