Fast and quantitative detection of organic analytes is achieved by coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy using a two-channel microfluidic chip in combination with deuterated isotopomers as a reference (see picture). This experimental design enables the simultaneous measurement of both the chemically relevant Raman-resonant signal and the non-Raman-resonant background.
