Unique Access to Optical Methods of Analysis

To further improve the optical analysis of biological samples, the “Jena Biophotonic and Imaging Laboratory” (JBIL) was officially founded on July 1, 2016. Research scientists gain unique access to cross-method, multi-modal imaging methods. JBIL’s partners include the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT), the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (FSU), and Jena University Hospital (UKJ). more...

Flexible and Inexpensive Raman Microscope System

Research scientists from Germany and Serbia have collaborated on the development of a flexible Raman microscope system that may be assembled from readily available individual components and cost just a tenth of a commercial Raman microscope. more...

Mobile Skin Diagnostics Anywhere, Anytime

The “DermaSpec” alliance project will be researching a mobile system for skin characterization over the course of the next three years. This project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with 1.05 million euros, will make a significant contribution to the comprehensive diagnosis of skin diseases. more...
