Am Mittwoch, dem 26.04.2017, 14.00 Uhr spricht Prof. Maya Bar-Sadan (Chemistry Department, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel) im Rahmen eines Institutskolloquiums zum Thema
“Following Growth Processes of Nanomaterials: Designing Particles on the Atomic Scale”
Abstract: While reports on the optical properties of single particles are available, correlating atomic scale disorder with the synthesis of the particles and with their activity is still generally missing. The majority of characterization procedures are performed on ensembles that average properties and may hinder the understanding of fundamental aspects in the synthesis. We use state-of-the-art high resolution microscopy to understand growth processes and to correlate the atomic structure with properties. I will show insights into the formation mechanism of functional nanoparticles by colloidal synthesis and I will present some case studies where the structure-properties relationship could be deciphered.
Das Seminar findet im Sitzungssaal des IPHT statt.
